Lockheed 12 to make its New Zealand Airshow debut at Omaka!

We're excited to announce that this beautiful aircraft will be making its New Zealand airshow debut at Yealands Classic Fighters in 2023!

Built in 1937, the aircraft served in the US Army Air Corps from 1939 until 1943, and its civilian history includes a stint in an Angelina Jolie-directed Hollywood movie. For more info, visit the Lockheed page.

Largest Gathering of Waco Biplanes in Australasisa

In a first for Yealands Classic Fighters, five Waco Biplanes, representing the largest gathering of this iconic brand ever assembled in Australasia, will be on the flight line at Omaka this coming Easter! Two are originals built in 1936 and 1941 and imported from the United States.

Former RNZAF Harvard NZ1044 to fly again in 2023!

In March 2020, Bevan Dewes purchased the aircraft and had it transported to Wanaka where Callum Smith’s maintenance & restoration company Twenty24 Ltd is based. Over the next 2.5 years they ran a full systems & components overhaul and restoration, which Bevan has been heavily involved in. The aeroplane repaint was completed by Heli Support. NZ1044 aircraft has been painted in the colours it wore during its time with No.2 FOTU at Ohakea during World War 2.
