Something not seen in the skies since the 1940s, this realistic recreation is a spectacle that has blown away Classic Fighters crowds since its introduction in 2015.
The Classic Fighters replica V-1 rocket, aka the ‘Doodle Bug, astonished airshow attendees when it defied all expectations and actually flew! Just prior, spectators had been lulled into a false sense of security when several other static V-1’s had been blown up on the ground as part of a typically ‘only at Omaka’ in the air and on the ground extravaganza. Make sure to watch the video!

None of this would have been possible without our amazing Classic Fighters team. Resident 'rocket scientists Alan Baker and Greg Trought who created the remarkable replica, Andrew Palmer for his support (including his piloting skills) and Expol Ltd for their assistance in supplying strong lightweight materials for the build.
Amazing entertainment aside, it is also a reminder of how periods of conflict can set in motion new levels of engineering exploration, resulting in technologies once unimagined by mankind. At the same time this remarkable display reminds us why humanity needs to work for peaceful solutions to conflicts between nations, lest the threat of evil weapons like this one, once again casts its shadow over humanity. Lest we forget.
