Food stalls

Yealands Classic Fighters places heritage aviation on display in an action-packed three-day Easter weekend, Friday 2nd – Sunday 4th April 2021, amid the magnificent scenery and vineyards of Marlborough during grape harvest time. 

Friday is the official practice day and is treated as a normal show day with gates opening to the public at 8am. Gates will open again from 3.30pm for ticket holders to the Friday night Marlborough Lines Twilight Extreme show, with sunset flying, entertainment and a fireworks spectacular running from 4pm – 7pm. The Twilight show is very popular with families.

The main show days are Saturday and Sunday. Gates open to the public at 8am, with the show programme running from 10am – 4pm. 

Food Stalls must be operating over all three days of the show, however staying open for the Friday night Marlborough Lines Twilight Extreme show (4pm – 7pm) is optional. You will need lighting at your site if you wish to trade over this time.

Food Stall sites are strictly limited and in high demand, so please get your application in early to avoid disappointment. Yealands Classic Fighters prides itself on offering a diverse variety of food styles in the Food Court area, so acceptance may not be guaranteed. If your application is successful, an invoice for 50% deposit will be issued for immediate payment to secure your site.

Payment in full is required no later than 12th February 2021, or your site may be cancelled.

Food Stall operators are supplied with 3x Three-Day Trade passes for staff and 1x Trade Vehicle pass to the Trade Exhibitor carpark. Additional passes for staff can be ordered on your application form or prior to the show (please contact Jo at the office). Additional staff vehicles must park in the public car parking areas.

Please note: It is up to all Food Stall operators to ensure all staff have their appropriate passes prior to the show. These will be checked at the Trade Gate, where E-tickets will be exchanged for lanyard passes. It is recommended that this is exchange is made on Thursday when you set up. Absolutely NO trade staff will be permitted on the airfield without a pass. 

Food Stall site prices are for the bare site only. Continental Event Hire supply all hire equipment to the show. If you require hire equipment, please select from the options on the separate application form.  

Power is available to your site at an additional cost. If a power connection is required to your site, please provide all information requested on the application form.

In 2021 we will be celebrating our 20th Anniversary, so you are welcome to draw on any of our past themes for inspiration. The best themed site will win a complimentary site to the 2023 show!

Local award winning coffee roaster CPR Coffee Co. are once again welcomed as show sponsors and exclusive coffee supplier to the show. All coffee vendors MUST use CPR coffee only, to be served in CPR branded takeaway cups. Applications will only be accepted with the agreement to these terms. CPR will contact all coffee vendors to take provisional orders for coffee and related consumables prior to the show and will be onsite for the convenience of venders to purchase additional supplies during the show. All items you intend to sell must be listed here. In some instances, Yealands Classic Fighters reserves the right to restrict some food items due to prior agreement with other operators (ie. whitebait) and you may be asked to remove certain items from your menu. 

Food Court site options:

Would you like to upgrade to a corner site? These are extremely limited and we cannot guarantee availability.

These are our standard size sites. Please contact us directly if you require a larger site, and we will get back to you with availability and price. All sites are marked out by GPS prior to show and accurate measurements of equipment to be placed on your site must be considered when booking your site including length of tow bars on trailers and additional space required from pop out compartments, opening doors on caravans etc.  No component of your stall must exceed the dimensions of the bare site booked or encroach on the adjacent site. Vendors not complying will not be permitted to trade.  We are extremely strict in this regard. All trade vehicles must be off the airfield before the gates open to the public at 8am and no trade vehicle will be permitted to remain on site or to have access to the airfield during the show without special prior permission.

All protruding components from items and equipment placed on your site such as tow bars, opening doors, awnings etc. must be included in measurements. If your equipment takes up more space on your site than stated in your application, you may not be allowed to trade.

Three x Three Day Trade passes are included in your site fee. If you require additional staff to be on site, you will need to purchase additional passes. No trade staff will be permitted on the airfield without a pass.

Power supplied by Marlborough Lines will be available to sites at an additional cost. All operators wishing to have power to their site must comply with the AS/NZS3000:2000 Electrical Installations Standard and AS/NZS3002:2008 Electrical Installation – Show and Carnivals Standard, see www.standards.co.nz  

All operators must display a copy of their Current Electrical Warrant of Fitness and all electrical appliances/cables must have current test tags. All operators must be compliant with all requirements and pass inspection by our Safety Officer before being able to connect to any power source on site.

All exhibitors wishing to connect to power source must supply their own 30m extension cord (with tags) per 10amp connection. Power is supplied at 10 amps per connection via extension cord (appliances connected to each extension cord must NOT exceed 10 amps).

Our Safety Officer will be onsite to discuss health & safety issues at Yealands Classic Fighters and to identify any hazards at your site. All Trade Exhibitors will be required to fill in and sign the Health & Safety form which will be sent to you once full payment has been received. These forms must be returned prior to the show.

Promote your site in the official Yealands Classic Fighters Programme – a high quality glossy A4 souvenir publication sold at the gate and free to all Platinum and Gold Pass ticket holders, Corporate Marquees and to national and international media. It contains the show programme, site map of the airfield and background information and profiles of aircraft and major attractions on display. You are required to supply your own artwork, to be submitted no later than 1st March 2021 to jane@omaka.org.nz

Terms and Conditions for all Food Stall operators 

  • All Food Stalls must be set up no later than 6pm on Thursday 1st April 2021.
  • All Food Stalls must operate for the entire three days of the show. However, trading over the Friday night Marlborough Lines Twilight Extreme show from 4pm – 7pm is optional.
  • All sites must be vacated after the show on Sunday 4 April. However, trade vehicles will not be allowed onto the field until the public have cleared the area and our Trade Gate staff deem it safe to allow vehicle access. Sites must be completely cleared no later than 10am Monday 5 April 2021. 
  • All fees must be paid in full by 12 February 2021, or within 3 days of the invoice being issued. Any unpaid fees will result in your site being cancelled. 
  • Absolutely no trade staff will be permitted on to the airfield without a trade pass at any time. 
  • All trade vehicles, including trailers, must be off the airfield prior to gates opening at 8am on each day of the show. No trade vehicles will be permitted on to the airfield during show hours. 
  • No camping is permitted on the airfield. Security will be operating each night, but Yealands Classic Fighters takes no responsibility for loss or damage to property. 
  • Site sharing is not permitted without the permission of Yealands Classic Fighters. 
  • We have several major sponsors who may require that we prohibit or apply conditions to the sale of competing products. 
  • Yealands Classic Fighters reserve the right of acceptance and placement of your stall. 
  • Food Stall operators assume responsibility for death, injury or property damage. They must hold the appropriate food safety certification and insurance.
  • No dogs (except authorised support dogs) or animals are permitted on the airfield at any time (CAA Regulations).
